AFP-SC is a non-partisan, non-profit grassroots organization committed to bottom-up solutions that drive freedom and prosperity.

Matt Humm

Matt Humm

State Director

Matt Humm has been working in politics in Indiana since graduating from Holy Cross College in 2010. He got his start working in the field on Jackie Walorski’s 2010 congressional campaign. After working for the Indiana Republican Party and then Congressman Young in respective election cycles from 2012-2014, Humm moved to Evansville to manage Mayor Lloyd Winnecke’s 2015 re-election campaign. After the Mayor’s landslide point victory in November, he moved to Indianapolis to work as political director for Young’s 2016 Senate bid. After continuing to work on campaigns during the 2018 cycle, he joined Senator Young’s State Office in Indianapolis, where he just concluded working as state operations manager. Prior to joining the AFP South Carolina team, he worked for AFP Indiana as their Deputy State Director, where he played a key role in advancing the organization’s policy priorities across the state. Matt resides in Summerville with his wife.

Candace Carroll

Candace Carroll

Director of Public Affairs 

Candace Carroll is the Director of Public Affairs with Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina. She is an honors graduate of Winthrop University, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and was awarded the Janice Chastain Houk Award for Undergraduate Research.

Candace has been with AFP for over 8 years – starting as a Grassroots Engagement Director in 2016 and serving as our State Director for the past 3 years.

Candace’s experience before AFP includes serving as the Upstate-South Carolina Field Director for former Governor Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign and working in Development for The Heritage Foundation and Winthrop University.

Candace resides in Liberty, SC with her family.

Hannah Selly

Coalitions Director

Hannah has been AFP-SC’s Legislative Liaison since January of 2023, connecting our grassroots communities with their elected officials and helping them advocate for legislation that will improve their lives. She has vast experience working on campaigns, under the dome in multiple state houses, and in a congressional office. Originally from Bamberg, Hannah now lives in Simpsonville with her husband and two dogs.

Brady Bowyer

Brady Bowyer

Director of Grassroots Operations

A native of Longview, Washington, Brady Bowyer has been active in grassroots politics since relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2011 at age 18. In addition to two prior stints with Americans for Prosperity in 2012 and 2016, Brady has worked for numerous other issue-advocacy groups, PACs, and campaigns ranging from the US Senate level down to city council races in over half a dozen states. He specialized as a Field Director, overseeing volunteer recruitment and voter contact efforts. Attending college between election cycles, Brady served as chapter president of both Young Americans for Liberty and Students for Rand Paul at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as well as serving as a senator in the student government. Brady eventually graduated with his Associate of Business degree from the College of Southern Nevada in 2019.

Since relocating to the Lowcountry in 2021, Brady has been twice elected 2nd vice chairman of the Dorchester County Republican Party. Before returning to AFP in 2024, he served as the Charleston area operations manager for a transportation and logistics company. Brady currently resides in Summerville with his wife Emily, a 6th grade English teacher. They enjoy taking day trips to the beach, playing with their two cats, volunteering with their church, and living out the fight for liberty here in South Carolina.

Andrew Moody

Andrew Moody

Grassroots Engagement Director – Upstate Area

Andrew Moody, originally from Clinton, South Carolina, serves as the Grassroots Engagement Director over Congressional Districts 3 and 4. He has a strong foundation built as a Grassroots Associate and has successfully led AFP-endorsed campaign races. His interest in politics began in early high school, but it was his door-knocking experience that truly brought his political aspirations to life. This marked the beginning of his impactful career in political advocacy and grassroots mobilization. Recently engaged to his fiancée, Andrew enjoys spending quality time with his loved ones and reading in his free time.

Ali Day

Grassroots Engagement Director – Myrtle Beach Area

Alexandra Day, a native of Acworth, Georgia, currently serves as the Grassroots Engagement Director for Congressional District 7. Her extensive experience includes serving as the Regional Elections Integrity Director for Georgia Victory, where she played a crucial role in safeguarding electoral processes. Alexandra has also worked with the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation and has held several significant positions within her county GOP, including House District Chair. Her diverse background underscores her commitment to community engagement and political integrity.

Dylan Ray

Dylan Ray

Grassroots Engagement Director- Midlands Area

Originally from Savannah, Dylan Ray serves as the Grassroots Engagement Director for the Columbia/Midlands region. Before joining Americans for Prosperity, Dylan gained valuable political experience as a Senate Aide in the Georgia General Assembly and as a Field Officer for the Georgia Victory program. Now, he is dedicated to making South Carolina the freest and most prosperous state in the union.

Peter Barrett

Peter Barrett

Grassroots Engagement Director – Rock Hill Area

Peter Barrett serves as the Grassroots Engagement Director for the Fifth Congressional District. Peter has worked over half a dozen political campaigns and races including in the states of Nevada, Missouri, Louisiana, Colorado, Michigan and Virigina. Now in South Carolina, Peter wants to do everything he can to help secure the America Dream for future generations.
