AFP to Newsom: Keep Your Progressive Politics Out of the Palmetto State
COLUMBIA, SC – Today, California Governor and presidential hopeful Gavin Newsom, the darling of coastal elites and far-left progressives, will travel the Palmetto State touting the same progressive agenda South Carolinians soundly rejected last November.
With Newsom’s aspirations for higher office well known, this trip to the first in the South state has a clear political overtone.
Americans for Prosperity–South Carolina State Director Matt Humm released the following statement on Newsom’s visit:
“Welcome to South Carolina, Newsom, a state that has voted for President Trump and his America-first policies by double digits in the past three presidential elections. Newsom has made his priorities crystal clear: he’d rather live out a desperate pipe dream of competing in presidential politics than honor his job as California’s chief executive.
“South Carolina has no interest in supporting the far-left policies that are running California’s economy into the ground. Our message to Newsom is clear – keep your progressive policies out of the Palmetto State.”
